Pillar Contractor-Built Apartment Buildings Officially Opened in Ventspils

On 20 May, two new rental apartment buildings at 122 Saules Street in Ventspils were officially opened. The buildings were developed on behalf of the Ventspils municipality and financed through the low-rent housing construction programme.

The implementation of the project marks an important stage in the development of Ventspils’ residential housing stock, providing the city with 60 new, modern, and energy-efficient rental apartments. From the beginning of June, the new residents will be able to move into their homes, and the occupancy rate has currently reached 92%.

Both five-storey buildings were designed and built by Pillar Contractor. “This was the largest project implemented by Pillar Contractor in Kurzeme, and we are therefore especially pleased that it is also so significant for the city of Ventspils and its residents. During the implementation of the project, we gained valuable experience by cooperating with the municipality and its institutions, as well as with companies in the region. We thank all cooperation partners for their contribution to the development of the project, and we wish a long and bright future to the homes on Saules Street!” emphasised Jānis Lāčaunieks, Chairman of the Board of Pillar Contractor.

The project was implemented with the support of the Development Finance Institution ALTUM, using a loan from the European Union Recovery Fund programme.

The project owner is the municipal company SIA “Ventspils nekustamie īpašumi”. The construction design was developed and the construction works were carried out by SIA “Pillar Contractor”, while construction supervision was provided by SIA “Būves birojs”.
